During the summer of 2023, Alar Ecology will be conducting a research project looking at the thermal properties of barn owl nest boxes. The main objective of this project will be to gather data that will inform nest box deployment in exposed positions subject to potential overheating.

Alar Ecology has invested in a state-of-the-art thermal imaging camera, the FLIR Scion OTM266. This will be used primarily for bat surveys but will have other uses too.
