On-site Works

Alar Ecology provides a range of site based ecology services and products to assist clients once a project has been approved and is ready to be implemented. These include:

  • Groundwork: preparation of the site (e.g. scrub clearance), taking into consideration any ecological sensitivities and ensuring that wildlife impacts are considered
  • Mitigation: implementing mitigation measures, including the installation of reptile and newt fencing and the safe capture and translocation of protected species to suitable receptor sites
  • Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW): to ensure full legal and planning compliance, providing practical solutions to deal with ecology issues on site as they arise
  • Ecological enhancements: this includes habitat creation, such as tree and hedge planting, pond creation, wildflower meadows and the installation of artificial features such as badger setts, bat and bird boxes, otter holts and reptile hibernacula
  • Monitoring: to demonstrate compliance with planning conditions and/or other obligations and to ensure biodiversity gains are secured

To deliver these services, Alar Ecology works in close partnership with a number of specialist subcontractors, providing high quality habitat creation and positive management for wildlife.
